M09: Lammas Tide

The Black DouglasThree song airs played as marches from the singing of The Corries. Melodeon player Dave McLagan introduced these tunes to the band. Sir James Douglas - "The Black Douglas" (pictured right) - was a prominent figure in the Scottish Wars of Independence, who joined up with Robert the Bruce and fought at Bannockburn in 1314.
