The Blue Ribbon SCD Band
Scottish country dance band
The Blue Ribbon band were
based in Crieff, Perthshire, during the 1950s, and were led by piano
accordionist Charlie Wilson. They played at numerous local dances and
were also featured on the radio. In the photograph, the line-up is
(l-r): Jimmy Bilsland (button accordion), David Douglas (piano), Roy
Thomson (drums), John Brebner (double bass) and Charlie Wilson. In the
early 1960s Charlie's brother Bruce took over on double bass and played
with them until the band split in the late 60s.
