The Ideal Band
The Ideal Band were Chris Miller, Ken Campbell and
Alasdair Robertson. Chris and Ken had been in
Molendinar and subsequently toured
Europe as a duo and
released an LP, "The Piper's Maggot" (Topic Records). Alasdair
had been in the rock band Cado Belle. The Ideal Band took their name from
Bob Smith's Ideal Band (further details).
Founder Ken Campbell went on to work with Hamish Moore as a duo, and
then Wendy Weatherby, toured Russia with them both, and recorded solo
projects, "Going Solo" (Fellside Records 063, 1988) and
"Hand Pict" (Watercolour, 1996). Ken has recently considered
reforming the band,
possibly with a different line-up.
Any further information about The Ideal Band would be gratefully received
(email me).
