Bruce's Address/Miss Girdle

Bruce's Address/Miss Girdle

This set is part of the following collections:
Music

The title of the first tune refers to Robert the Bruce's address to his troops at the Battle of Bannockburn in 1314. The tune is very old, being known as Hei Tuti Tati and, more usually these days, Scots Wha Hae after Burns's song. Miss Girdle is a bagpipe setting of a B flat fiddle tune, Lady Montgomery, published in a few 18th and 19th century collections. In Ireland it can be found as The Rising Sun.
