Music

Both of these tunes originated in Canada. The first tune is from Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia, the composition of one Rory MacDonald, while the second one is known in various forms all over the world. Its beginnings are unknown, but it's generally thought to be from Canada - possibly Quebec. Many people think it's from Shetland, but that is not the case.

This set is part of the Cape Breton Collection, more of which can be seen in my World Music Index. They're also part of the The Edinburgh Slow Session consisting of tunes particularly played at the Edinburgh Slow Session.
