Ukulele Flash Mob

Ukulele Flash Mob

As part of the Crieff Arts Festival 2018, I am planning a Ukulele Flash Mob It's one of a number of activities taking place in James Square in the centre of Crieff. A local artist is conducting a Paint-In, where anyone can produce a flower painting on canvas. The ukulele group Strumelele are performing from 1.30pm. At 2.30 I'm conducting a singalong on the theme of the day: FLOWERS. I'm aiming to have copies of the words of the choruses for everybody to join in.

At 3.00pm, the Flash Mob is due to start. The song which will be sung is Singin' in the Rain and the cue is me singing "Doo deloo doo, doo-dee" four times. Then everybody sings the verse, then there will be an instrumental (there will be lots of kazoos on hand for non-uke players). During this time, there will be some local dancers performing a specially choreographed dance with umbrellas. After the instrumental, we sing the verse again, and then add the final line, "Just singin' and dancing in the rain. As soon as the word "rain" is sung, simultaneously, other people can sing "Doo deloo doo, doo-dee" twice, slowing down all the time.

Ukulele Flash Mob Singin' in the Rain is a very simple song using two chords: C and G7. Click here to download a PDF of the song and arrangement.
