  • Content: Fairly standard dance fare with no surprises.
  • Dating: There is no indication of date. The arranger, J Meredith-Kay, was involved with the Gleneagles Hotel Band who, under that name, released four tracks in 1926. He also recorded tracks under the name Meredith-Kay and his Orchestra in 1925. That whole enterprise may very well have been a marketing ploy, with the records by the Hotel Band (in reality Henry R Hall's band, who seem to be English) and the book being produced for the hotel to sell to their customers. Anyway, because of the date of the recordings, I have assumed that the book was published at roughly the same time.
  • Provenance: I found the book in a charity shop in Perthshire, in pretty poor condition, but apparently with no pages missing. I scanned half a page at a time then joined them together with Affinity Photo.
  • Availability: The book itself is rare, and I would imagine quite hard to find. You can download a PDF of the book from my collection:
