The Fourteenth of October/The Eleventh of October

Fourteenth of October

This tune is part of the following collections:
Music

The first tune is old, appearing in several early 18th Century collections, indicating that it's probably from the 1600s. The significance of the date is unknown, although it could simply be because it's St Crispin’s Day, or perhaps the birth of King James VIIth. The second tune can also be found as a reel under the title An Ugly Customer.
