Jenny Dang the Weaver/Foot it Featly

Jenny Dang the Weaver
This set is part of the following collections:

Music

Jenny Dang the Weaver is said to have been written by a Rev Mr Gardner of Aberdeenshire, who saw his wife having an altercation with a member of staff, ultimately hitting him over the head with a soup ladle. The Reverent named his for this incident.

Foot it Featly was first published in 1844 in Hamilton's Universal Tunebook. There it states that it was composed by John Turnbull. I don't know what the title means, but in other places it has been called Foot it Neatly, Foot it Feathy, and Drummond Castle.
