Both of these tunes were composed by fiddler Angus Fitchet (1910-1992) who was born in Dundee and learned the fiddle from his father at an early age. At twelve he was playing in the local cinema along with the silent movies of the era. After the second world war he joined the Jimmy Shand Band and toured with them for years before forming his own band, and later played with Jimmy Blue.
