Both of these tunes were composed by James Scott Skinner. Mackenzie Hay was named for the President of the Highland Strathspey and Reel Society of London, while The Kirrie Kebbuck was composed to commemorate an event whereby his friend A McPherson ("the Laird o' Thrums") cut a huge cheese round with a saw.
