Clementina Sarah Drummond (1786-1865) married Peter Robert Burrell in 1807 and lived at Drummond Castle, just outside the town of Crieff in Perthshire. The great gardens at Drummond Castle were created for her in the 1840s. The tune is often attributed to Niel Gow, but just as often doubted.
Janet Tyed the Bonnet Tight came from The Piper's Assistant (1874) and is known in Ireland as well.
