Music

In Scotland during the 1600s there were two blind harpers known as Rory Dall, or Ruiridh Dall, and there is some confusion about them and their respective compositions. The first, Ruaidhri Dall O Cathain was born in Ulster, but spent most of his life in Scotland; the second, Ruaidhri Dall Mac Mhuirich, or Roderick Morrison, was born on Lewis. Whichever of them wrote this tune (the former is more likely), it is a example of 17th century harp music at its finest.
