This wonderful waltz was composed by the Georgia fiddler Clayton McMichen (1900-1970). His first big success was when he joined the legendary group Gid Tanner and the Skillet Lickers in the mid-1920s. In 1931 he formed another popular band called The Georgia Wildcats (along with guitarist Slim Bryant), as well as performing and recording solo.
