This complete set was transcribed from the 1976 album Cut and Dry Dolly, a recording of traditional tunes for the Northumbrian pipes. Holmes's Fancy was first published in Peacock's Collection, published in Newcastle in the early 19th century. I don't know anything about Stagshaw Bank Fair the tune, but the event was a large fair at Hexham during the 19th century. Lasses Pass the Brandy is an old tune with several similar names, and is known in Scottish and Northumberland traditions.
