The Echoing Strings (Dermot Grogan's Hornpipe)

I've taken this tune from the CD Buzzin' by the Bumblebees. It's a lovely, lazy kind of hornpipe - not because it's easy to play, but because it moves up and down arpeggios with apparent effortlessness, and it makes you want to play it over and over again. . I was originally told that this tune was composed by Dermot Grogan himself, from Co. Mayo, who is now living and playing in New York City, but this is not the case. The tune was composed by Owen Hackett in the early 1960s as a four-part tune. I'm looking forward to hearing the four-parter; this is a great tune and has long been a favourite of mine.

There's another hornpipe from the Bumblebees' CD which I've tabbed out: The Ruby.
