Hamilton House

In 1744 James Oswald published ten airs of his own composition "for the Tragedy of MacBeth." This is one of them. Hamilton House possibly refers to the building near Prestonpans which was built in 1626 by Sir John Hamilton. It is now in the care of The National Trust for Scotland.

This set is part of my James Oswald Collection; for others, check out the Composers Index.
