The composer James Oswald (1710-1769) was born in Crail, Fife, and later lived in Edinburgh. At aged 31 he moved to London and published a great collection of Scottish traditional music, the "Caledonian Pocket Companion."

This melody was used by Robert Burns for his song The Border Widow's Lament.

This set is part of my James Oswald Collection; for others, check out the Composers Index.
