  Christ Child's Lullaby

It has been said that this tune was originally a waulking song (used by singers whilst treating tweed). In 1855, when Father Ranald Rankin departed from his congregation in Moidart, he gave the Gaelic verses he'd composed - Taladh Chriosda - to the children of his church as a carol to be sung on Christmas Eve. The Gaelic words have been translated by Bob Pegg, and also by Seamus Ennis. I got this version from Derek Hoy.
