• Ceol Rince na hÉireann
As a collection of Irish traditional dance music Ceol Rince na hÉireann is one of the most important of its kind. The original notes and musicians' details were in the Irish language, and here is presented for the first time a translation of these notes by Paul de Grae.

• Music from Ireland
This three-volume collection from 1974 is a fantastic resource: excellent settings of tunes which were played in Irish sessions. Faults might be found with aspects of the books or the collectors, but nothing can take away from their importance within the great Irish music publications. Here I have notes on the tunes found in the books, with alternative titles, etc.

• The Northern Fiddler
A wonderful book with field transcriptions of music from Donegal and Tyrone, and copious illustrations of the area, and interviews with the musicians. It is of particular interest to me because of the strong connection between Donegal and Scotland. I have gathered together notes on the tunes with alternative titles, etc.
