Mixter Maxter 33 is landing in Argyle for the fifth time in August 2026. Like the previous two years, we'll be in the excellent Ardrishaig Public Hall, and there will be an open session on the first evening.

The Ardrishaig event is different from my usual workshops in that it's split over two days. We start at 1pm on Tuesday 4th August, finishing at 5pm. Then a couple of hours in which we all get a bite to eat, then the evening session starts at 8-ish for a couple of hours. Next morning, Wednesday 5th, we start at 9am and finish between 12noon and 12.30.

The theme of the workshop is "uisge beatha" or WHISKY!

My mixed instrument workshops are inclusive, catering for players at various stages of experience and ability. They're less about individual excellence, and more about everybody working as a group, contributing to the final sounds.

Part of the Ardrishaig event is an open session on the first evening, open to the paricipants, their friends/family, and anyone else who wishes to join in or simply watch and listen. Some of the tunes we'll play can be seen in a special tunebook, available to download from the music page.

I may offer Zoom sessions for anyone who wishes to go over the music in advance. let me know if this is something you would like.
