On March 2nd 1838 the Clydesdale Bank was founded in Glasgow by a group of merchants - "liberal radicals" according to Checkland's I (1967). The bank survived and expanded during various economic disturbances, and in 2018 it acquired Virgin Money and announced that the Clydesdale Bank and the Yorkshire Bank would change to reflect the Virgin Money brand.
I got the first tune from Kerr's Merry Melodies (c1875), and I haven't found it appearing anywhere else. The second tunes comes from The Skye Collection (1887) where it's given as a pipe strathspey. I have adapted it and turned it into a reel.
