Music

This popular song is variously called It was Upon a Lammas Night, Corn Rigs, or The Rigs of Barley. The air was known in Scotland at the beginning of the 18th century as Corn Rigs, but it is likely that it is English originally and, according to Chappell, was composed in 1680 for a song called Sawney was Tall.
