  Da Brig

Jigs aren't that common in Shetland, but there are a few good ones. This one was composed by the great Unst fiddler Fredamann Stickle who lived in the 19th century. The "brig" in the title refers to a type of sailing ship called a brigantine. Often played slowly, I play this at jig speed at the end of a set comprising Da Fields o' Foula and Garster's Dream.
