The Scottish Slow Session series of books are are a part of a project to encourage people to start playing music with others, and are targeted at people learning an instrument who want to start playing in sessions. Sessions can be confusing and seemingly hostile environments, and it's partly for those reasons that "slow sessions" exist: to create a friendly, inclusive space for the enjoyment of playing music with others. These books would also be of interest to anyone wishing to play Scottish music in sessions.
