My first Old Time workshop took place during a day of workshops called Scots Music Group Spring Workshops in Edinburgh back in 2005. It was part of the Ceilidh Culture festival in the city.
The four workshops taking place that day were Whistle and Flute with Brian Finnegan and Sarah Allan (of Flook fame), fiddle with Amy Geddes, Guitar with Sandy Wright, and my Old Time Mandolin session.
Later there was a concert featuring all the tutors in duos: Brian and Sarah, Amy and Sandy, while I played with a musical partner Sam Gifford, At the end we all played together, so it was a thrill to be playing with such great musicians.
