Music

Kitchen Girl is yet another tune whose only source is West Virginian fiddler Henry Reed (1884-1968). Alan Jabbour recorded Reed's considerable repertoire in the mid-1960s and, with his band The Hollow Rock String Band, popularised many of Reed's tunes, particularly on their influential 1967 LP 'Traditional Dance Tunes'. It gained further popularity when The Boys of the Lough included it in a set on their 1977 album 'Good Friends, Good Music'.
