 Who's Who in Scottish Folk
E

Eastwood, Dean
Dean Eastwood ran several folk clubs in the Dundee area in the 1970s, including the Dundee Folk Centre in Broughty Ferry. He also acted as an agent for folk acts, but when he wasn't running other people's careers, he was seen performing solo and as a duo with Eddie McNaughton (called The Eastwoods). In May 1972 Dean formed a duo with Margaret Mather called The New Eastwoods. Dean's real name was Norrie Maiden.
Eggplant
See Arizona Eggplant.
Estrylin
This folk quartet were from Stirling in the early- to mid-1970s. They had also been known as The Sterling Folk Four (Estrylin and Sterling are old names for Stirling), and consisted of Gavin Anderson (vocals, guitar, mandolin, whistle), Peter Aitken (vocals guitar), Marlyn Graham (vocals, guitar, bass) and Elinor MacRorie (vocals). Gavin now lives in France, while Peter is sadly deceased. Peter and Marlyn went on to perform as Two and a Bit during the late 1970s.

Edinburgh Jacobites, The
I don't know much about this group, except to say that it definitely existed in 1969, and that well-known Dundee musician Eddie McNaughton was a member at that time.
Elastic Band, The
Extant around 1968-69, The Elastic Band were Andy Ramage (vocals, guitar), Hamish Smith, Stuart Smith and Rab Stark (drums). They played at the Glenfarg Hotel.
Evans, Howard
Main instigator of the short-lived Carlogie Folk Club in Carnoustie in the late 1960s. He played guitar and sang, and also wrote songs for himself and others, such as the Edinburgh group The Karlins.
