Ferndales, The
Brothers Jim Woolridge (guitar, lead vocals) and Eric
Woolridge (guitar, banjo, whistle, harmonica) from Gauldry in North
Fife played together as The Ferndales from 1967, playing a mixture of traditional and
contemporary material. In 1970 John McLaggan (mandolin), once a
member of The Clansmen joined the pair.
Foresters, The
Formed in 1969, Ron Massie, Sandy McKenzie (guitar, harmony vocals)
and Alan Ritchie. They also formed a short-lived Kirriemuir Folk
Club. The group became The New Foresters before splitting in late
1970. Sandy joined Ken Orrock in The Ken Orrock Duo which were
rapidly renamed Moonshadow.

Fife Reivers, The
This family group from Glenrothes were Jim Laing (guitar),
Maureen Laing and Russell Laing (tenor banjo, guitar,
12-string guitar, mandolin, violin), occasionally joined by
Kevin Laing (autoharp) and Kay Harris (bass, bongoes, vocals).
They recorded one LP.
Flett, Bill
Bill, from Kirriemuir, played in a duo with Ferg Ewart called
The Kirrie Folk, but before that he played with a local pop group,
The Roadrunners for four years.
Foy, Gus
A resident singer at the Forfar Folk Club in the late 1960s/early 1970s.
